“Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts; And see if there be any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.”
Psalms 139:23-24 NASB
You’ve made that tough decision. The decision you knew you needed to make. You’re wondering if you made the right decision. Now what?
Forge ahead and stay in prayer. Anytime you do something new, it’s uncomfortable at first. Whether it’s something you’ve wanted to do for a long time and you are excited or it’s something you’ve dreaded doing for a long time and you are scared. Neither of these feelings mean you made the wrong decision. It’s new. It’s different. It’s not what you’ve been doing. Give it time. And, stay in prayer.
Start each day expecting to learn more and to become more comfortable – more at ease. Throughout the day, speak encouraging words to yourself and spend time with encouraging people. At the end of the day, reflect on your day. What went as you expected? What was a surprise? Did you handle both situations the way you feel you should have? If not, how should you have responded? Plan for the next day. Relax and get some rest.
The Bible says that God’s mercies are new every morning. God gives us a fresh start every morning. We must choose to have a ”fresh start” mentality every day and then, throughout each day, maintain that mentality. Press on and be encouraged. You are on the right track.
